What extra virgin olive oil is

It is olive juice obtained only by mechanical means, with no solvents and no refining, and it is the highest grade of olive oil: its acidity is 0.8% at most and it passes an official tasting panel with no defects at all. That is why it keeps compounds such as polyphenols and vitamin E, which refining largely removes.

Is olive oil suitable for every skin type?

Yes. In a well-balanced formula it works for dry, combination, oily and sensitive skin; what changes is the texture and the actives around it. That is why we have a serum and a cream for every skin type.

Can I put kitchen olive oil on my face?

For your face, a formula designed for skin is the better choice. A cream or serum combines extra virgin olive oil with water, hydrating actives and a light texture that absorbs straight away: hydration and visible results with no greasy feel.

Which is better, an oil or a moisturiser?

A moisturiser. It combines ingredients that attract water, such as hyaluronic acid or glycerin, with oils like EVOO that help keep it in the skin. That way it moisturises and nourishes at the same time.

How can I tell whether a product contains olive oil?

Look for Olea Europaea Fruit Oil on its ingredient list (INCI). You may also find olive leaf extract (Olea Europaea Leaf Extract) or Squalane, which can come from olives.
